The CAEN Academy Tour – India Edition is a hands-on training event organized by CAEN India, focused on introducing the new 2nd Generation CAEN Digitizers and the Sci-Compiler development framework.

This intensive training program combines technical presentations, live demonstrations, and practical laboratory sessions. Participants will explore the architecture, features, and advantages of the CAEN x2740, x2745, x2730, and x2751 digitizer series, specifically designed for advanced real-time digital signal processing applications.

The event will provide a comprehensive overview of the Sci-Compiler graphical environment, demonstrating how FPGA firmware can be developed without writing HDL code. Through block-diagram design and automated VHDL generation, attendees will learn how to rapidly implement and deploy custom digital processing algorithms on CAEN hardware platforms.

A central part of the training is the practical hands-on session using the CAEN SMART evaluation kit. Each participant will work directly with their own PC and hardware setup to build, compile, upload, and test real data acquisition firmware within minutes. Practical exercises will include implementing oscilloscope functions, scalers, charge integration, pulse shape discrimination (PSD), and deploying firmware directly onto CAEN digitizer boards. Participants will also gain experience using the CAEN SciSDK Python and C++ tools for system control and data readout.

The training includes access to the CAEN SMART Kit during the session, example projects, technical materials, and direct support from CAEN R&D specialists.

The CAEN Academy Tour in India will take place in:

– Mumbai: Saturday April 11th
Oasis Banquets, Vidhyarthi Marg, Chembur

– Delhi: Monday April 13th
Inter University Accelerator Center (IUAC)

– Kolkata: Thursday April 16th
Bose Institute

The program is intended for researchers, engineers, PhD students, and professionals working in nuclear instrumentation, radiation detection, digital signal processing, and FPGA-based data acquisition systems who wish to deepen their expertise in modern digitizer technologies and firmware development workflows.
