CAEN Educational Events

After the nuclear disaster in March 2011, the Fukushima-Hamadohri area has become a unique educational ground for learning from both natural and social scientific viewpoints. Osaka University has been organizing the Hamadohri Environmental Radiation School since 2016. This year, the school will be followed by the IEEE/NPSS Radiation Measurements School. In total, a 9-day program will be held from September 9th to 17th.

The Hamadohri school includes soil sampling and soil measurements. Visits to evacuated areas and discussions with local people are also included.
