On September 25, 2026, CAEN S.p.A. welcomed students from Liceo Scientifico “Galileo Ferraris” of Turin to its headquarters in Viareggio for an educational visit dedicated to the world of scientific instrumentation, research, and technological innovation.

The initiative is part of CAEN’s ongoing commitment to supporting science education and career guidance for younger generations, fostering a concrete and continuous dialogue between schools, industry, and the research community. Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the company from the inside, gaining direct insight into its organizational structure, core competencies, and main research and development areas.

The program began with an introduction to CAEN and its role as a supplier of electronic instrumentation for nuclear and particle physics, as well as for a wide range of industrial and environmental applications. Students then toured several of the company’s departments, where CAEN professionals illustrated the daily activities behind the design, development, and testing of the company’s products.

A particularly engaging moment was the demonstration of a drone-based system for radiation monitoring, which showed students how detection technologies developed for scientific research can be applied in the field to address real-world challenges such as environmental monitoring and radiological safety. In the electronics laboratories, engineers explained the process through which an instrument moves from initial design to final validation, highlighting the multidisciplinary skills involved at every stage.

Direct interaction with CAEN’s engineers and researchers fostered a lively and stimulating exchange, allowing students to ask questions, discover the professional profiles working in the sector, and reflect on how the scientific and technical subjects studied in school translate into concrete career paths.

The visit concluded in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and mutual appreciation, confirming the educational value of the experience and reaffirming CAEN’s commitment to promoting scientific culture and inspiring the next generation of physicists, engineers, and innovators.

CAEN would like to thank the students and teachers of Liceo Scientifico “Galileo Ferraris” for their interest and participation.
