Abstract: This experiment uses Silicon Photo-Multiplers (SiPMs) which are an high density matrix (104=mm2) of Silicon avalanche photo-diodes (APDs). Silicon photo-multipliers, often called “SiPM” in the literature, are solid-state single-photon-sensitive devices based on Single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) implemented on common silicon substrate. The Silicon Photo-multiplier (SiPM) is a sensor that addresses the challenge of sensing, timing and quantifying low-light signals down to the single-photon level. The silicon photo-multiplier (SiPM) is a radiation detector with extremely high sensitivity, high efficiency, and very low time jitter.
